Services

Service Options Built
Around Your Pool

Not every pool needs the same service. We tailor everything based on your pool's condition, environment, and usage — then deliver it consistently, every week.

Option 01

Weekly Chemical Service

Precise water chemistry management every week. We test, analyze, and balance your pool to keep water safe, sanitized, and clear — preventing the conditions that lead to algae, cloudiness, and equipment damage.

  • Complete water testing (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, CYA)
  • Chemical additions balanced to your specific pool and environment
  • Algaecide treatment as conditions require
  • Shock treatment when water demands it
  • Written chemical log maintained on every visit
Why It Matters

Consistent chemistry is the foundation of every healthy pool. Most pool problems — cloudy water, algae, skin irritation, equipment corrosion — begin with neglected chemistry. Weekly precision prevents all of it.

We don't over-treat. We don't under-service. We read your water and add exactly what it needs — nothing more, nothing less.

Option 02

Weekly Cleaning Service

A thorough physical cleaning that keeps your pool visually immaculate and operationally healthy. Debris and buildup don't just look bad — they feed algae, clog equipment, and shorten the life of your pool.

  • Surface skimming (leaves, insects, debris)
  • Brush walls, steps, and waterline
  • Vacuum pool floor thoroughly
  • Empty skimmer and pump baskets
  • Inspect filter pressure — backwash when needed
  • Rinse tile at waterline
Why It Matters

Debris in water feeds bacteria. Buildup on walls becomes stain and scale. Clogged baskets stress your pump and accelerate early failure. A clean pool isn't a luxury — it's how pools age well.

Option 03 — Most Popular

The Worry-Free Pool Program

The complete package — full chemical service, full cleaning, equipment monitoring, and pool health tracking combined. True "set it and forget it" ownership. Your pool is cared for at the highest standard, every week, without you lifting a finger.

  • Everything in Chemical Service
  • Everything in Cleaning Service
  • Equipment health inspection on every visit
  • Early identification of repairs before they become emergencies
  • Monthly pool condition summary report
  • Priority scheduling and locked route day
  • Seasonal service adjustments throughout the year
Set It & Forget It

Worry-Free Program clients don't think about their pool. They just enjoy it. We handle everything — the chemistry, the cleaning, the equipment check — and report back so you're always informed without ever being burdened.

This is the plan chosen by the majority of our clients, and the one we recommend to anyone who wants their pool to be truly worry-free.

Our Philosophy

No Two Pools Are the Same

"We don't over-treat. We don't under-service. We do what your pool requires — every week."

Sun Exposure
Direct sun accelerates chemical burn-off and algae growth
Trees & Debris
Surrounding trees determine cleaning frequency and approach
Usage Patterns
Heavy use changes chemical demand and cleaning schedule
Equipment Age
Older equipment requires closer monitoring and adjusted care
About

Meet Stephen J. Hines

Owner & Operator — Legacy Pool Services

There's a reason I started Legacy Pool Services — and it wasn't just to clean pools. It was to give homeowners something they're not getting from most pool companies: a service provider they can actually count on.

I started this business because I saw the same problem over and over. Homeowners would hire a pool company, things would look okay at first, and then slowly — the visits became inconsistent. Communication dropped off. The pool started to suffer. By the time they realized something was wrong, they were dealing with algae, broken equipment, or a cloudy mess right before summer.

That's not how I operate. When I commit to servicing your pool, I show up. Every week. On the same schedule. Whether it's a routine visit or I need to flag something that requires your attention — you'll always hear from me.

What separates me from most pool technicians is attention to detail. I don't rush. I test carefully. I look at your equipment. I notice when something seems off — before it becomes a problem. That's what preventative care actually means.

I also believe every pool is different. A pool in a shaded backyard with low traffic needs completely different care than one used daily in full sun next to a row of oak trees. I account for those differences — and I don't show up with the same routine for every client.

Reliability

You will never wonder if I came. I communicate after every visit, hold my schedule, and treat consistency as non-negotiable.

Attention to Detail

I notice what others miss — subtle water changes, unusual equipment sounds, early signs of problems. I catch things early so they stay small.

Honest Communication

If your pool needs something, I'll tell you plainly — what it is, why it matters, and what it will cost. No surprises. No upselling.

Long-Term Thinking

My goal isn't a clean pool this week. It's a healthy pool that serves your family for years and equipment that doesn't fail ahead of time.

If you want a pool company that shows up, cares, and communicates — that's Legacy Pool Services.

FAQ

Your Pool Questions,
Honestly Answered

We believe informed homeowners make better decisions. Here's everything you should know about pool care — straight from the person who'll be servicing yours.

Why is my pool cloudy?
Cloudy water is almost always caused by improper chemical balance, inadequate filtration, or poor circulation. Low free chlorine, high pH, or elevated combined chlorine (chloramines) are the most common culprits. When chlorine drops, the water loses its ability to kill bacteria and oxidize organic matter. High pH reduces chlorine's effectiveness — so you can have "enough" chlorine but still get cloudy water. Filtration issues like a dirty filter or insufficient run time also allow particles to stay suspended. The fix usually involves a water test, chemical correction, and running the filter for 24–48 hours after a shock treatment.
How often should my pool be serviced? +
Weekly service is the professional standard — and for good reason. Pool chemistry doesn't stay stable on its own. Sunlight burns off chlorine. Rain dilutes and unbalances water. Bathers introduce oils and organic matter. Debris accumulates and feeds algae. Going two or more weeks between service visits is where problems start. Algae takes hold, chemicals become harder to recover, and equipment runs dirty. Weekly service prevents all of that and keeps your operating costs lower over the long run.
What causes algae — and how is it prevented? +
Algae grows when three conditions are met: low or absent sanitizer (usually chlorine), warm water, and sunlight. Pools with intense sun, heavy debris from surrounding trees, or high bather load are particularly susceptible. Prevention is simple but requires consistency: maintain proper free chlorine levels (typically 2–4 ppm), keep pH between 7.4 and 7.6, brush walls and surfaces weekly, and ensure your filter is clean and running adequately. A proper shock treatment followed by brushing and filtering usually resolves mild algae. Severe cases require more aggressive treatment.
Why does my chlorine level fluctuate so much? +
UV from the sun destroys free chlorine rapidly — a pool in full sun can lose most of its chlorine in hours on a hot day. This is why stabilizer (cyanuric acid) matters: it protects chlorine from UV degradation. Bather load also increases demand significantly, and imbalanced pH makes chlorine far less effective (at pH 8.0, chlorine is roughly 20% effective; at 7.4, it's about 65%). We test for all of these factors and adjust accordingly — which is why professional weekly service produces more stable results than DIY maintenance.
How do I know if my pool equipment is failing? +
Equipment failure is often gradual before it's sudden. Early warning signs include unusual sounds from the pump (grinding, whining, or air sucking), a noticeable drop in water pressure at returns, a filter requiring more frequent backwashing, or a heater that won't maintain temperature. Visible leaks, air bubbles returning into the pool, and equipment that cycles on and off unexpectedly are also red flags. One of the key values of professional weekly service is that a trained eye spots these symptoms early — before they cause complete failure or cascade damage to other components.
Do I need to be home during service visits? +
No — in fact, most of our clients aren't home during their scheduled visits. That's part of what makes weekly service so convenient. As long as we have access to the pool area, we complete everything without you present. We communicate after each visit with a summary of what was done and any items to note. If we encounter something requiring your decision — like a repair that needs addressing — we contact you promptly with a clear explanation of what we found and what we recommend.
Why are spots limited? Why don't you take every client? +
Route quality depends on geographic density and manageable client numbers. When a route becomes too large or too spread out, service quality suffers — visits get rushed, problems get missed, and consistency breaks down. By keeping routes tight and client numbers manageable, we can show up on time, every time, and give every pool the attention it deserves. We'd rather do fewer pools exceptionally well than do many pools mediocrely.
